Langdon Hills Golf & Country Club, Essex

Creation of a new health-led community and centre for golfing excellence in the heart of Thurrock. 

Our Client wants to build upon the strengths of Langdon Hills Golf and Country Club by enhancing the golf offering through the comprehensive redevelopment of the existing clubhouse and creation of a new golfing academy that will put tuition at the heart of the club. 

Central to the proposed development is the creation of a new health-led community including 85 bungalows and 36 apartments for independent living / Extra Care. The Care Village / Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) will provide an extended range of services for older people who may require care packages which will be delivered directly into their homes on a needs basis. 

For those with greater care needs the scheme also includes 42 close care apartments and a 64-bed residential care home with dementia facilities. 

This scheme presents a unique opportunity to transform the golf club into a leading centre of golfing excellence as well as providing much needed extra care, close care and residential care, with specialist dementia accommodation for Thurrock residents. 

The scheme was approved at Planning Committee in June 2020 and is due to make a start on site later this year.
